The practice of yoga, for women by women, is deep, profound, and a celebration of the nature of women, our monthly cycles, as well as our life cycles.
A Breathing Space for Women
You are welcome here if you are brand new to yoga or a seasoned yogi. You are welcome, no matter your body size, age, sexual orientation, or abilities. Whether you are healthy or unhealthy, you are welcome here.
We want all women to know they can feel comfortable practicing the happy baby pose or a wide-legged forward bend. We want you to know that you will not be judged if you accidentally fart or experience leakage and that you can have a hot flush or cry. We offer body-positive yoga and wellness classes for cisgender women and transwomen can practice with a sense of safety, support, and community.
We provide an accessible, openhearted, and non-judgmental environment so that women can freely explore their mind, body, and spirit connection to create peace within themselves and access new ways of coping with stress and life challenges.
Through sliding-scale student fees and donor support, all our classes are offered to women from marginalized and underserved communities–women of color, indigenous women, and transgender women—who might otherwise not have access to healing services.

Movement, Mindfulness & Mobility
Mobility is our ability to move freely and without pain. Our mobility impacts everything in our lives that requires movement- from tying your shoes to sitting at a desk.
In this 90-minute class, we will practice a 60-minute flow, followed by a discussion on mobility, and end with journaling prompts to reset your mind. The practice will incorporate stretching, yoga, mobility exercises, and breathwork. Bring your journal/pen.
Kundalini Yoga, Sound, & Meditation
Kundalini Yoga utilizes a combination of meditation, breath, mantras, and yoga poses to relax and restore your mind and body while improving strength and flexibility. The word “Kundalini” translates to “awareness,” and through the practice of Kundalini Yoga and meditation, you can use energies from your psychological, physical, and nervous systems to gain further inner awareness. This form of yoga makes use of asana (yogic postures), pranayama (breathing), and mantra (chanting). This awareness is meant to assist you on your path toward lasting wellness, even after you leave the classes. Kundalini is meant to be incorporated into your everyday life as a tool that brings you into a more balanced state in every aspect of wellness.
Flow + Yin Yoga
This class begins with a gentle vinyasa sequence and pranayama to assist the mind and body to come into coherence with breath. Flow & Yin is designed to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and encourage the flow of prana in the organs and connective tissues. This practice targets, nourishes, and brings awareness to the deepest areas of pulsation inside and around the body, our connective tissues — ligaments, joints, bones, and the deep connective networks.

We honor all women of all sizes and hold space so you can get your sweat on, laugh and have a good time. This is a laid-back, friendly, and encouraging class. Can you already feel yourself becoming stronger and more confident?

So please know that everything we teach during our classes is optional -- feel free to take a break, leave class, share your feelings, or whatever else works for you. We are here to support your wellness journey.
Do I have to talk?
No. Although we sometimes have open sharing circles during class, no one is ever required to speak or share. The most powerful moments of connection are often found in silence.
Who can join a class?
Our classes are offered to women and those that identify as women. All our classes are accessible for all bodies, all ages, and no prior yoga or meditation experience is necessary.
How do I know which class is for me?
The best way to know if a yoga or movement class is right for you is to give it a try! We have created a scale of intensity designed to help guide you through this process. You can also reach out to us via hello@greenwitchct.org with any additional questions you may have, or stop by to say hello!
What should I wear or bring?
What to wear to yoga and movement classes is completely up to you! Wear something comfortable that will allow you to experience a full range of movement. Breathable, flexible bottoms and a sports top that offers enough support for the class type you’re participating in. You will need to bring your own yoga mat, but we have mats available by donation if you don’t have a mat. We also recommend bringing water, a small towel and a journal.
You don’t have to be anyone other than yourself.
Yoga is the process of learning to be aware of self and others and finding an authentic, natural way to move your body. Yoga is balance and flexibility; yoga is breath; yoga is connecting the breath to the movement; yoga is living in the present moment with mindfulness; yoga is increasing the flow of energy (prana); yoga is stilling the mind and ultimately achieving bliss. Yoga is for every BODY.
